The Twist

Radio Changes. You Adapt.

No two games are the same. These are living, breathing markets. What works in 1973 may fail by 1983. The audience and business are changing all the time.

1970s

AM still matters

Top 40 stations battle each other for young ears, old-line AM stations still get big audiences.

1980s

FM Takes Over

Cars get FM radios and that’s where people want to hear music. How will AM stay relevant?

1990s

Radio Consolidates

Ownership rules change, clusters rise, strategy becomes more ruthless.

2000s+

New pressures

More stations, streaming audio, changing ad markets and shifting audience habits force hard choices.

FAQ

Questions

Do I need to know radio to play?

No. If you like strategy, management, and competition, you can play. Radio knowledge helps, but it is not required.

Is this single-player or multiplayer?

Both. Solo is always available. Multiplayer works on supported plans (see Pricing). On the free tier you can host multiplayer only in Atlanta, but you can still join a subscriber’s room in other cities with a room code.

What’s the difference between the free trial, Starter, and Pro?

Your first full solo game is free with full access. After that run, subscribe to start additional games, or keep playing for free in the Atlanta market only — compare Starter and Pro above.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Airwave Empire runs right in your browser.

Can I play on my phone?

You can open the game on a phone, but the interface is built for desktop, laptop, and tablet screens. For the best experience—and to avoid a lot of scrolling and zooming—use a larger display.
